Joseph Orlando is a New York City–based DJ, MC, and event production professional with roots in the music industry that go back to childhood. Known artistically as Jo Flash and as a founding force behind The New York Hitmen, Joseph views music as more than entertainment—he calls it universal therapy, a belief that has shaped a career built on creating unforgettable experiences and bringing people together through sound, energy, and precision.Joseph’s professional journey began in 1990 on WKRB-FM 90.9 in Brooklyn, where he developed his on-air presence and sharpened his ability to read an audience. After two years in radio, he earned a role at MTV in Talent Relations, working alongside celebrities and executives—an experience that refined his professionalism and raised his standard for production and performance. From there, he transitioned into the club scene and beyond, performing at notable venues including PACHA NYC (Residency), Crobar NYC, and venues in Las Vegas, the Hamptons, and throughout the metropolitan area. Along the way, he worked with and performed alongside a wide range of major artists, DJs, and public figures, reflecting a career grounded in both credibility and versatility.While Joseph’s club and artist work established his reputation, his legacy is equally defined by his years as a mobile DJ and master of ceremonies, trusted to lead weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, corporate events, holiday celebrations, milestone birthdays, engagement parties, and countless private and social gatherings. His approach blends flawless mixing, tasteful crowd engagement, and a polished MC style that keeps events moving seamlessly—from grand introductions and speeches to packed dancefloors and memorable finales. Whether it’s an elegant black-tie reception or a high-energy celebration, Joseph is known for tailoring each event with intention, precision, and a confident sense of timing.Beyond performance, Joseph provides full-scale event production and corporate A/V services, delivering professional sound systems and show control for crowds upwards of 2,000 people. His production capabilities include full PA and microphone systems, presentation audio, multi-room setups, and dependable support for high-stakes programs. He has also produced multi-camera video shoots, live-streaming broadcasts, and audio recording and presentation capture, helping organizations create polished experiences in the room and professional content after the event.Joseph has been hired by a wide range of corporations and government organizations, including brands and agencies such as Samsung, T-Mobile, Nextel, Chase Bank, Western Union, Marriott Hotels, NYPD, FDNY, the Mayor’s Office of NYC, and the MTA of NYS, among others.
